We use TO BE (am / am not, is / isn´t, are / aren´t) to talk about names, professions, nationalities, age, feelings, characteristics.

Examples:

  • Carlos is a student.
  • They are pilots.
  • My city is attractive.
  • She is 19 years old.
  • I am not lazy.

We also use HAVE/HAS to describe appearance.

NOTE: 
            This expression:  (HAVE GOT / HAS GOT) is the same for (HAVE / HAS)




Have got / Has got   -  British English               I have got new pants.
